Research Experience:

Dr. LIU Kai received his Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering from Nagoya University in 2006, and received a M. Eng. and a B.Eng. degree in Urban Planning from Tongji University, China. He is a professor and Vice dean in the School of Transportation and Logistics, Dalian University of Technology, China.

Dr. Liu has published more than sixties academic papers in professional journals and conference proceedings, among which twenty papers have been indexed by SCI/SSCI. His papers have been non-self cited more than 300 times according to Google Scholar. Recently, his researches focus on green transportation systems, including electric vehicles system and demand-responsive bus system, as well as the technologies for reducing traffic energy consumptions and emissions. 

Dr. Liu has been appointed as the Chair of Transportation and Environment Discipline of Cross-cutting Track of World Transport Convention, the Chinese North-East Regional Chair of IEEE Technical Committee on Cybernetics for Cyber-Physical Systems. He also served as the International Scientist Committee Member of Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS).  Dr. Liu is a guest editor of two special issue in IET ITS Journal, also he served as a reviewer of technical papers for several well recognized journals and conferences such as the Transportation Research part C/D, Transportation, Journal of Transportation Engineering, Journal of ITS, and so on.
